Rupayan Group has come forward to help the students and the poor people in remote Hatia island.
Under the supervision of former lawmaker Mohammad Ali, the group distributed gift items from last Saturday to Wednesday among poor students of Boalia High School in Hatia Charking union and Bangabandhu High School in Tamarddin union, according to a press release.
Jasim Uddin, president of the managing committee, and Shah Kamal Uddin, assistant headmaster of Boalia High School, distributed the gift items among the students keeping social distance, while Akhter Hossain, headmaster of Bangabandhu High School, distributed gifts among the students of his school.
Advocate Sajjad, president of Hatia Bar Association, and Advocate Tuhin also went to the homes of helpless poor people and delivered gift items to them.
Former chairman of Hatia Md Monir Uddin delivered the gift items on behalf of Rupayan Group in Hatia.
Rupayan Group, one of the country's top real estate companies, has been working since the beginning to address the coronavirus crisis.
Earlier, Mahir Ali Khan, vice-chairman of Rupayan Group, donated Tk 2 crore to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund on behalf of Ratul Company.
Ali Akbar Khan Ratan, vice chairman of the group, also handed over 50,000 surgical masks to the Bangladesh Army on behalf of Rupayan Group.
Besides, Rupayan Group has so far provided food assistance to about 30,000 poor families.
